Mal Hudson

Mal Hudson, age 78, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Cassville.

He was born June 16, 1941 in Jenkins, Missouri, the middle son of Gene and Katy (Miller) Hudson.

On July 3, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Williams and to this union his only son, Douglas Gene Hudson, was born February 5, 1964. Mal and Mary Jane were divorced August 1979 and he never remarried. Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Doug and two stepgrandsons, Jared and Brandon Carter.








Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Jill Hudson of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; one brother, Max Hudson of Jenkins, Missouri; one sister, Jeanenne Lester and her husband Rick; step-granddaughter, JoGina Park and her husband Chris of Wheaton, Missouri; three step-grandchildren, Kelton, Jayci, and Palyn Park; many cousins and numerous friends.

Mal received his education in one room school houses in Clio, Cato and Jenkins, Missouri, graduating from Cassville High School in 1958. Mal served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. Mal attended barber school in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated in March, 1959. He returned to Cassville and bought South Side Barber Shop on the square where he worked for fifty-five years. Some of his favorite pastimes were buying and selling property, fly fishing at Roaring River and catfishing with Doug and Jill at Grand Lake.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Jerry Nickle will conduct the services.
