Martin Childers

Mr. William Martin Childers, 87, of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life on Friday evening, February 28, 2020, in the comfort of his home after months of declining health.

Martin entered this life on February 29, 1932, in Caddo, Oklahoma, one of ten children born to the late Lemeul Clyde and Thelma (Watson) Childers. His formative years were spent in Caddo, Oklahoma. He resided in Sanger, California before moving to Goodman, Missouri in 1981.

 On August 20, 1987, he was united in marriage to Mildred York and together they have shared the last thirty-two years. Martin was a farmer throughout his life. He and Mildred also delivered the Big Nickel for a number of years. He enjoyed bear hunting, cutting wood, gardening and country music.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Darrell Childers and Craig York; and all nine of his siblings.










Martin is survived by his Wife, Mildred Childers of the home; six children, Connie Childers of Neosho, Missouri, Martin Dale Childers and wife, Kim, of Anderson, Christine Lesher and husband, Blake, of Merced, California, Karen Williams and husband, Kelly, of Powell, Missouri, Carol Tripodi and husband, Tom, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas and Eva Boyd and husband, Bill, of Rogers, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Lance, Megan, Dalton, Brian, Crystal, Marcus, Ashley and Brittany; several great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Pineville Cemetery with Dr. Randy Davis officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Martin Dale Childers, Brian Williams, Bill Boyd, Wyatt Garrison, Tom Tripodi and Kelly Williams.
