Mary Cox

Mary Louise Cox, age 87, Carl Junction, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at her home.

Mary was born July 30, 1932 in Diamond, Missouri, daughter of the late John Albert Alford and Irene Rachel Smith Alford. She graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1950, and worked for Elder's Manufacturing and Motorola, retiring in 1989.

She married Marion Lawrence Cox, Sr. on August 23, 1953, he preceded her in death on August 1, 2000.

Mary was a member of Carl Junction Christian Church for many years, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whether watching their sporting events, or taking them to their various functions. She was also fondly remembered for her cooking, especially her cherry jello, and getting everyone birthday presents. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.








In addition to her parents, and her husband Marion, she was preceded in death by her son, Marion L. Cox, Jr.; two brothers, John Roy Alford and Clyde August Alford.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Wilkins and husband Tim of Carl Junction; daughter-in-law, Claudia Cox; grandchildren, Justin Wilkins, Tamara Beckham (Terry), Aaron Wilkins, Mark Cox (Amanda), and Mike Cox (Cheyenne); great-grandchildren, Josie Wilkins, Ari Beckham, Eli Beckham, Elijah Curtis, Caleb Curtis, Jacob Curtis, and Nate Curtis; brother, Bill Alford (Maxine); nieces and nephews, Johnnie Alford (Julie), Pam Stephenson (Jim), Bill Alford (Jennifer), Irene Williams (Lee), Wanda Grissom (Dick), Johnny Davey (Delynn), Karen William, Winston Dunham (June) and extended family.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Carl Junction Cemetery with James Billings officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Beckham, Justin Wilkins, Mark Cox, Mike Cox, Ari Beckham, Eli Beckham, and Aaron Wilkins.



We at Parker Mortuary want to inform you that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure that we reduce your risk to exposure while in attendance for a service at our facility. Guidelines released by the National Funeral Directors Association; the Center for Disease Control; as well as state and local health agencies have advised limiting funeral service gatherings to ten or less. Family and friends are welcome to visit the funeral home during normal working hours. If you are not feeling well or do not feel comfortable visiting the funeral home in person, you may leave a condolence for the family by visiting our website.

We remain committed to work with our families to plan meaningful services to remember a life well-lived. Please know that as this situation evolves, additional changes in the way we serve our families may be necessary for the protection of our staff, our client families and members of the community who may be most vulnerable to this virus.
