Virginia Jacobson

Virginia Jacobson, 77 of Carthage passed away April 9, 2020. Virginia was born August 28, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to Howard and Margaret “Frank” Downing.

She worked as a purchaser for Wallace Visible in St. Charles Illinois. Virginia loved to travel especially by cruise ship 15 cruises, but the Hawaiian Islands were her favorite topping the list 11 times around. She loved her family and had a wonderful garden with flowers and vegetables.
Virginia was united in marriage to James Jacobson they were married in 1978 in Colorado, “the light of each other’s life” they met and worked with together they were devoted and inseparable. They enjoyed 42 wonderful years together mostly in Colorado and retiring in Florida. James survives.








Virginia is survived by four children; Dale A. Bailey Jr. and wife Deb, Dawn Martini and husband Steve, James Jacobson II and wife Lori, and Lonnie Yoho and wife Patricia, ten grandchildren; Jonathan, Austin, Cheryl, Kyle, Alexandria, James III, Natalie, Thomas, Heather, and Amanda, five great grandchildren Lane, McKenzie, Lilliana, Easton, and Maya, sisters Arlene Marsala and Eileen Jaszczak, and friends she considered family across the country.

Private Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 14, 2020 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Family will receive friends after service from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com
