Dee Dart

Dolores “Dee” “Gree” Frances Dart, age 84, passed away at her home in Webb City, MO on May 2, 2020. Dee was born March 7, 1936 in Kenoma, MO to Frances “Frank” and Jessie House and lived in Lamar - Jasper area most of her life.

She graduated from Lamar High School in 1954. She married Harold Lee Temple April 3, 1954, and they operated a farm and their hay baling and hauling business outside of Jasper for most of their marriage. She was president of the PTA, active in the TW Club, she helped start Teen Town in Jasper, and a leader in the Jasper Clover 4H Club. After the dissolution of their marriage she began to work at O’Sullivans and retired in 2000.

She married Benjamin “Benny” Lee Dart on December 29, 1987. They enjoyed their days on his truck traveling the country and often taking their grandchildren with them. They were members of Christ’s Community of Joplin. She especially loved working with the children at the Discovery School at their church for several years after her retirement.








Dee is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Gripka and her husband, Arnie of Joplin, Mo. Her granddaughters Rachel Greene of Webb City, Kathleen Carter and her husband David of Webb City and their children, Austin of Offutt AFB in Nebraska, Kyler, Brantley, and Drake all the home. Melissa Vantrease and her husband, Brent and their children, Justice and his wife Skila of Oronogo and their daughter Kynzlee, Sarah and Libby of the home. Her stepson Mark Dart of Galena. Her grandsons, Joshua Dart and his wife Jessie of Nevada and their son Isaiah of the home. Chris Dart of Galena and his children Easton and Gunnar. Cory Dart and his wife Megan of Grove, Oklahoma and their children Weston and Daylan. Gabriel Dart and his wife Brittany of South Carolina and their children, Annabelle and Hunter. Serenia Guy and her husband Ian of North Carolina. Her Stepdaughter Julie Dart and husband Perryn of Galena. Grandchildren, Sara Dart of Baxter Springs and her children Alysha, Jasmine, and Mary Sue. Stephen Dart and his wife Michelle of St. Louis and their children Elijah and Adalyn. Ronnie Dart of Galena and his son Lucas. Brooks Dart and his wife Bailey of Baxter Springs and their children Asher and Rylie. Emily Bowles and her husband Jeffrey and their daughter Stevie Brooks. Granddaughter Amber Dart of Webb City. Great-Grandchildren Kelson and River Dart of Webb City and a Great-great-granddaughter Faith of Baxter Springs. Brother-in-laws Robert Belline, Bob Dart and his wife Pam. Sister-in-law Joanne Passley and her husband Herman and many nieces and nephews. She was truly loved by everyone that met her and many friends and bonus grandchildren.

She enjoyed spending her time attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and was loved by all of the players and their families as well. She played dominoes on Sundays with the ladies at church. She and Rhonda went to Branson often with the Senior Saints to attend many shows. She loved to play games with her family and friends and never let them win.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin “Benny” Dart, her son Michael Lee Temple, her stepson Ben Dart, her sister Betty Belline, grandchildren Dustin Dart, Erin Marie Dart, and great-granddaughter Trinity Dart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ’s Community of Joplin, Saturday May 9 at 10:30 am. As required by Joplin City Ordinance, we will need to maintain social distancing.

The family has requested that Memorial Contributions be sent to the “Christ’s Community
Discovery School Scholarship Fund.”
