Harvey Buzzard

(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)

Harvey Blaine Buzzard of Lamar, MO passed away on Thursday September 3, 2020. He was born in Barton County on October 2, 1938 to Richard and Ethel (White) Buzzard.

Harvey grew up in Barton County and graduated from Lamar High School in 1956. Around his 16th birthday he met the love of his life, Jean Ison. Harvey’s brother was dating Jean’s best friend, brought Harvey along and talked Jean into a double date. They married October 6, 1957.

He worked as a printer, first for the newspaper and then he purchased and ran the Barton County Print Shop. He loved to tinker in his shop and was known for his wood working, especially his bows and turkey calls. He kept an amazingly organized shop with a place for every immaculately kept, clean, perfectly sharpened, painted tool.

Harvey enjoyed people and he never met a stranger. He always had a story and they were always true. Those who knew Harvey will fondly remember him and remember his habit as he walked them out the door of saying, “I’ve got one more thing to tell you…..”

Harvey is survived by his wife; sons, Craig (Kendra) Buzzard and Derek (Charity) Buzzard; grandchildren, Cody (Regina) Buzzard, Kyle (Lyndsey) Buzzard, Clayton (Marissa) Buzzard, Sam Buzzard, Kaden Buzzard, Brooke Buzzard, Zander Buzzard; and one great-grandson, Gentry Buzzard. He is also survived by his brothers, Wayne (Patsy) Buzzard and Lee (Marguerite) Buzzard. He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Nanny and Charlie White, son Terry Buzzard, sister Marguerite Thornberg and niece Joyce Buzzard. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Iantha Cemetery.

There will be a visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 PM followed by a 3:00 PM funeral service on Sunday September 6, 2020 at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
