Carlene Kienzle

Carlene Louise Kienzle passed away at the age of 76, on September 21, 2024 while surrounded by family. Carlene was loved by all, and went by many names including Aunt Charlie, Mom, Grandma Carly, and Meemaw.

Carlene was born March 23, 1948 to her parents Nadine and Revie Farrar at Derfelt Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She attended and graduated from Joplin High School. She was married to Gary Kienzle on May 17, 1969 at Fairview Baptist Church in Joplin, where she remained a member until her passing.






She held many jobs throughout her life including working at Newman’s Department Stores, Schriber’s Cheese, and Missouri Southern State University until retiring to care for her mother and then her husband before their passing. Of all these she was most proud to be a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Carlene loved sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. As a young person she played softball and then supported her children and grandchildren through their love of sports as well. She also adored holidays and birthdays, and took care to make celebrations special for the people around her.

Carlene was a generous person who gave of her time and skills freely. She never met a stranger, and had a vast community of friends and family who she loved tremendously. Carlene was a Christian and she loved Jesus Christ, who she has now joined in heaven.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nadine and Revie Farrar, her husband Gary L Kienzle, and her siblings, Wendell Farrar, Jimmy Farrar, Danny Farrar, Doris Cole, Delores Turner, Donna McKeel, and Vickie Prince. 

She is survived by her sisters, Sue Routledge and Reva Wallace, her son Mark Kienzle and his wife Amy Kienzle, and her daughter Angela Kienzle and her partner Thomas Garrett, as well as her grandchildren, Madison Kienzle, Mallory Kienzle, and Oscar Kienzle, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made out to Fairview Baptist Church Youth Group or the Wednesday Night Meal Fund.








Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Fairview Baptist Church from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Fairview Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with pastors John Mitchell and Josh Branham officiating. Burial to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
