Pauline Lewis

Pauline S. Lewis passed on September 20, 2024, at the age of 99. Pauline was born on February 24, 1925 in Everton, AR to Benjamin R. and Lucy Swofford. She worked for many years at Eagle-Picher Industries in Joplin.

Throughout her life, one thing stayed central to Pauline – her faith in Jesus and her involvement in church. She became a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Joplin, MO in 1959. She would go on to sit on numerous committees, serve on the Kitchen Team, and host women’s groups in her home. She prayed consistently for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.








Pauline stayed active throughout her life, enjoying activities like square dancing, swimming, walking, puzzles, card games, reading and listening to books, quilting, crocheting and baking. She created quilts and towels for friends and family, and shared her talents with her grandchildren over the years.


She is survived by two sons, Rick (Becky) Lewis and Larry (Janette) Lewis. 4 grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie) Lewis, Jessica (Ryan) Clements, Staci (Brad) Thompson, and Kristi Lewis. 8 Great-grandchildren, Grayson and Brooklyn Lewis; Calvin, Noah and Finley Clements; Brooke, Emma and Liam Thompson.

Memorial service will be October 11, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. The family is thankful for the care she was provided at Spring River Christian Village and Good Shepherd Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO.
