David Barrow

David Eugene Barrow, age 66, Joplin, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at a local nursing center after a lengthy illness.

David was born November 22, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA, son of the late D.H. Franklin Barrow and Evelyn Margaret (Caswell) Barrow. He moved to Joplin as a child and attended Joplin Schools before graduating from Parkwood High School. 

He worked at night as a computer programmer for First National Bank in Joplin, and later with Missouri Southern State University. He was known as a math wiz and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing chess. He was very intelligent and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the New Beginnings Bible Church in Seneca. He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Barrow.

Survivors include his sisters, Barbara Smith of Neosho, MO, and Jeanette Zimmerman and husband Kevin of Cleveland, OK; sister-in-law, Robin Barrow of Collinsville, OK; nieces, Theresa Walthall and husband Travis, Candy Jo Zimmerman Lilley and husband Charles, and Evianna K. Barrow Schaberl and husband Paul; nephews, Wesley Smith and Adam G. Barrow; great nieces and nephew, Grace, Grant, and Kalliope.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Mark Landreth officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 12:00 noon until service time.
