(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)James Lucas Boyer, age 41, passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2026.
He was born March 1, 1984 in Joplin, Missouri to James and Sherry (Benford) Boyer.
James enjoyed sports and being himself.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry.
James is survived by his father, James and wife Teresa, one sister, Macee Boyer and numerous extended family.
A service in his memory will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
I’m wondering if this was an unhoused guy I knew? He used to come into the store I managed almost daily to use the restroom & always left it as clean as when he entered. I introduced myself & he told me his name was Jay. He needed to cash a check he received from manpower that had his name as James Boyer.
