Sharon Wilson

(From Midland Cremation Society)

Sharon Gayle “Gamboo” Wilson, 87, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and deep devotion to her family. She was born on April 19, 1938, and from that day forward, she built a life centered on caring for others.

To know Sharon was to feel loved. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family, whether you had known her for years or had just met her. Her heart was big enough for everyone, and she never missed a chance to offer kindness, a warm smile, or a listening ear. Family was her world, and nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by those she loved.

Sharon spent many years working for LabCorp as a medical lab carrier, always cheerful, hardworking and always had a smile on her face.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristy Englert and her husband Don; her son, Curtis Wilson and his wife Angela; and her sister, Judy Phases. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Shannon Irwin, Brandee Read, Clay Cobble, Corey Minshall, Laci Reed, Codi Gray, Aaron Wilson, Johnathon Davis, and Maci Wilson. Her legacy continues through her 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly and spoke of often.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Wilson; her daughter, Rhonda Gray; and her parents, Erma and Henry Nausley—each of whom she carried in her heart always.

“Gamboo,” as she was affectionately known, will be remembered for her unconditional love, her strength, and the way she brought people together. Her home, her presence, and her heart were always open. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will live on in the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.

Arrangements are made with Midland Cremation Society in Joplin, Missouri

  1. Worked with Sharon back when it was called Rosche Laboratory. Loved her and her family. She was a caring and loving person who was always there for you if needed her. God bless her family and may God bless them and wrap his arms around them for comfort.
