Helen Hubbard passed away on June 6, 2026, in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 106. She was born on January 8, 1920, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of the late W. Ellis and Jane M. (McDaniel) Wright, and lived a long life marked by devotion to family, service to her country, and a spirited love of life.

Her career reflected both her skill and her commitment to helping others, and she was respected for the care and responsibility she brought to her work. She married Dolph Hubbard on March 19, 1949, in Palo Alto, California. The two would share 55 years of marriage till his passing on December 31, 2004.

Helen was also a faithful member of First Christian Church of Carthage and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Military Officers Association of America, and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, These affiliations were important to her and reflected her appreciation for faith, heritage, and community. She valued the connections she made through church and civic involvement and carried herself with quiet dignity in all that she did.

She enjoyed a wide range of interests and was known for her active and adventurous spirit. Helen loved all kinds of sports and took up snow skiing in 1960, a pastime she enjoyed with her family. She was an excellent bridge player and ping pong player, and she loved dancing. She was also a gifted caregiver, seamstress, and gardener who found joy in tending to her home and in the beauty of flowers. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her great happiness throughout her life.

Helen is survived by her sons, Dolph Hubbard of Carthage, Missouri, and Judd Hubbard and his wife, Nancy, of Modesto, California.
