Charles Gene Borchardt, age 74, Neosho, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
Charles was born March 20, 1942 in Wausau, Wisconsin to the late Harry Borchardt and Ruth McCollen Borchardt and had lived in Neosho over 20 years moving from Georgia.
He was a veteran and retired from the United States Army, serving as a combat engineer. Following his retirement, he worked at Talbot Wire, Neosho, for several years.
Charles enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing whenever he got the chance.
He married Nancy Loraine on January 28, 1982 in Hinesville, Georgia. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include his son, Michael Borchardt and his wife, Jennifer, Crawfordville, Florida; a daughter, Donna Adams and her husband, Tom, Hinesville, Georgia; four grandchildren, Eli, Reiley and Brandon Borchardt, Chad Knudson and his wife, Chelsea; and a sister, Amy Glass, Illinois.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by several brothers.
A memorial service is planned for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the mortuary.
