James J. Arnce, age 91, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 12:24 a.m. Monday, March 09, 2015 at Freeman Hospital West following a lengthy illness.
James was born December 11, 1923 in Cardin, Oklahoma. He returned to the Webb City area in 2002 from Norwalk, Ca. He was employed with the Western-Kraft Co. in Compton, Ca. as a heavy equipment mechanic. He served his country during WW II in the U. S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, a son, and a daughter. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Jackson, Raritan, New Jersey, two sisters, Reva Jean Harrington, and Charlotte Glines, both of Joplin, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery open air chapel with Chaplain Ronald Wright, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
