Minnie M. (Nutting) Roark, 87, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 2:36 am, March 27, 2015 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after an illness.
Minnie M. Nutting was born January 2, 1928 in rural Wyandotte the daughter of Orval and Alvena (Crowley) Nutting. Minnie was a lifelong resident of Seneca. She formerly worked in the local cafes and worked many years as a cook for the Seneca R7 School District. She was a member of the Swars Prairie Baptist Church south of Seneca. Minnie will be remembered for her homemade cinnamon rolls and all the good food she prepared over the years. She loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her children.
Minnie M. Nutting married Carl B. Roark November 12, 1944 at Sycamore Chapel United Methodist Church in Wyandotte and he preceded her in death September 7, 2013.
Survivors include four children; Janie Steele and husband Lonnie, Linda Holt and husband Tom, Joan Parmley and husband Bill, Don Roark and wife Glenda all of Seneca; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild and one step great-grandchild.
Minnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville D. (Junior) Nutting and Kenneth Nutting and two sisters, Ramona McCorkell and Imogene East.
Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Swars Prairie Baptist Church south of Seneca, with Pastor John Crowley officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Don Roark, Janie Steele, Michael Steele, Todd Holt, Michelle Dardenne and Sam Roark serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 pm, Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Seneca Food Pantry in Care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865.
