Warren Z. Irish, age 87 of Joplin, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born November 18, 1927 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Harry A. Irish and Sybil Pauline Puckett Irish and lived in Joplin his lifetime. Since 1945, Warren owned and operated Tick-O-Time Jewelry, where he worked as a jeweler, watchmaker and clock repairman. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. Warren participated as a boxer in Missouri Golden Gloves competitions. He was a former Mason and Shriner. He truly enjoyed spending time with friends and golfing at Briarbrook Country Club.
His wife, Beulah Gertrude (Judy) Powers Irish, preceded him in death on August 11, 1963. He was also preceded by a brother, Lewis Ralph Irish; and two sisters, Anna Glover and Goldia Lucille Lanning.
Survivors include his children, Janice Compton of Smithville, MO, Jerry Irish of Joplin, Karen Irish of the home, Scott Irish and wife Jodii of Olathe, KS; his brother, Jack Irish and wife Marty of Portersville, CA; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Southwest of Neosho. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary.
