Alice Agatha McKenzie Irving, age 97, formerly of Chanute, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at National Health Care in Joplin, Missouri.
Alice was born April 16, 1918 in Chanute to the late Fred Beal and Freda Ann Wangler. She retired in 1983 from Sutcliffe Pipe and Supply as an office manager. During WWII, Alice worked for the railroad in Los Angeles, California. Alice was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Webb City, Missouri.
On February 10, 1941, Alice married James B. McKenzie in Joplin. He preceded her in death in September of 1997. She later married Thomas Irving in August of 1999 and he also preceded her in death in 2006.
Additionally, Alice is preceded in death by a son, Dennis McKenzie; grandson, Michael McFarland and a brother, Lemul M. Beal.
Surviving Alice are a daughter, Sharon McFarland of Carterville; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, October 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
