Dolores M. Amos, age 86 of Joplin, Mo., passed away early Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following an illness.
Dolores was born on July 22, 1929 in Saginaw, Mo. the daughter of Orville and Alberta (Turner) Moser. She has been a lifetime area resident, she worked at Fairchilds and involved in the Real Estate industry for many years. Then Dolores spent her days caring for her family as a homemaker, she really enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Joplin, a past Worthy Matron Ruth Chapter #177 Order of the Eastern Star, a past Worthy High Priestess of Azotus #5 White Shrine of Jerusalem and a past Royal Matron of the Praying Hands #15 Amaranth in Webb City.
She married Jack Amos on September 8, 1967, he preceded Dolores in death on May 17, 2013. Dolores was also preceded by her parents, one daughter, Janice Bittick Wright, one sister, Mildred Miller, four brothers, Herman Moser, Harold Moser, Brooks Moser and Wayne Moser, and two grandchildren; Anjalesa Amos Lampert and Ryan McCaleb.
Survivors include one son; Jann Amos, Webb City, Mo., three daughters; Ramona Amos Caldwell, Whitesboro, Tx., Jackie Bittick McCaleb, Mobile, Ala., Pam Bittick Speer, Joplin, one brother; Don Moser, Saginaw, nine grandchildren, JJ Caldwell Tyson, Tammy Speer Miller, Michelle Vader Gagnon, Vanessa Wright Grabber, Kristy Speer Overturf, Dana Vader Skarra, Brian Wright, Jonathan Wright, Stuart McCaleb, fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses at Mercy ICU and 4th Floor staff for their outstanding care of mother during her time at the hospital.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel, Bruce Allen, will officiate. Burial will at Saginaw Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday with Eastern Star service at 6 p.m.
