Mildred Louise Hudgins, age 92, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Mildred was born April 12, 1923 to the late George Carmack and Dora Lassiter Carmack and had lived in the Joplin area all of her life.
She worked as a cafeteria manager for the Joplin R-VIII School District for over 25 years, retiring in 1988.
Mildred enjoyed fishing; dominoes; attending church services at Free Will Baptist Church; listening to the Monday Night Garage Band and pretty punch needlework. She had a quick-witted spirit about her and could trade jabs with anyone. Mildred will be missed by all that knew her.
She married Leroy 'Roy' Hudgins on November 11, 1993 in Carterville. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include three sons, Russell Joe Points and his wife, Sue, Bentonville, Arkansas, Dennis Gene Points and his wife, June, Joplin, Neal Leon Points, Joplin; two daughters, Uldine Louise Ryan and her husband, Tim, Carthage, Darlene Lucille Reynolds and her husband, Chester, Joplin; step children, Jimmy Hudgins, New Jersey, Joey Lee Hudgins, California, Mark Wade Hudgins, California; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.
Services are planned for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Jim Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Fullerton Cemetery, south of Carthage. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Tim Ryan, Jr., Donald Ryan, Terry Reynolds, Timothy Ryan III, Alex Ryan, Orrin Ryan and Dennis Points.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
