Kenneth E. Hubbard, 93, Neosho, passed away on November 14, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, following a short illness.
He was born April 30, 1922 in Hartwell, Missouri, the son of George and Goldie (Harbstreet) Hubbard. Kenneth served in the U.S. Coast Guard from December 22, 1942 until December 22, 1945. He moved to Neosho in 1955 and worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office until retiring in 1977. Following his retirement, he worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion 163 – Neosho and currently attended the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Neosho.
Kenneth married Naomi Smith on October 24, 1942 and she preceded him in death on November 18, 2001. He then married Barbara (Lawson) Haslip on February 1, 2003 in Nashawa, Iowa, and she survives. Also surviving are two children, Milton Hubbard and wife, Vicky and Dana Mitchell and husband, Rick; one brother, Dale Hubbard; three grandchildren, Brian Mitchell and wife, Anna, Heidi Oliver and husband, Shawn and Wendy Charlton and husband DeeWayne; six great grandchildren, Kylee Charlton, Brice Mitchell, Rogan Mitchell, Avenn Mitchell, Grayden Oliver and Emma Oliver; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
