James R. Burge, 67, Carthage, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at his home after a short illness. James Ray Burge was born July 3, 1948 in Dallas, TX, a son of the late Earnest Ray Burge and Dorothy Marie Thomas Burge. He was a graduate of South Oak Cliff High School, Dallas, Class of 1966. He married Michele Clark on October 29, 1992 in Houston, TX; she survives. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a transportation specialist for 30 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Nazarene Church, Carthage.
Additional survivors include; four daughters, Karen D. Burge, Dallas, TX, Melissa D. (Joseph) Briggeman, Knoxville, TN, Amber N. Clark-Judd, Carthage and Katie A. (Brent) Hood, Carthage; three sons, Bryan D. Burge, Dallas, TX, Stephen C. Clark, Lodi, CA and Jonathan D. (Alicia) Burge, Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Michael (Deb) Burge, Alliance, OH.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 1 at the Nazarene Church, Carthage. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
