Norma Jean Lancaster, 83 of Carthage, passed away following a short illness, at Freeman Hospital January 7, 2016.
Norma was born February 26, 1932 near LaRussell, MO to Everett and Edith “Moore” Chandler. Norma was a lifetime Carthage resident and a homemaker, she loved flowers, gardening and her family, She was a country western music fan. Norma was a member of the Bykota Church of Carthage.
Norma was united in marriage to Fay Lancaster February 25, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death December 17, 1993. Norma is survived by one daughter Vickie Joines of Carthage, one granddaughter Crystal Huckstep and husband Mike, two great grandsons Jesse Richards and Dylan Richards, one sister Marjorie Robertson and husband Lawrence of Carthage and one brother Jay Chandler and wife Barbara of Sarcoxie, one niece Connie Goodman, three nephews Larry Robertson, Randy Robertson and Terry Robertson and two great nephews Phillip Robertson and Nathan Robertson and one great niece Susan Goodman. Norma is preceded in death by her parents and husband and one grandchild John Christopher Joines.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday January 11, 2016, prior to the services.
