Dennis Paul Owens was born August 26, 1942 in Benton, Illinois, the son of John Lacy and Imogene (Summers) Owens. He entered into rest on May 20, 2019 in Springfield, Missouri, suddenly at the age of 76.
Dennis served in country in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam era, Sept. 6, 1963 - Sept. 5, 1967 and then served in the Air National Guard, Sept. 8, 1984 - April 12, 1985. He worked as a truck driver for Warner Enterprises and he enjoyed bowling, fishing and was an avid reader. He was of the Baptist faith.
Dennis and Elzie D. (Clyne) were married on September 9, 1967 in Orange Park, Florida and Elzie survives of the home.
In addition, he is survived by two sons, Michael D. Owens and Matthew R. Owens and wife, Jennifer; one granddaughter, Caitlyn Owens; three sisters, Susan Hoxsie and husband, Gary, Cheryl Haase and Marilyn Whitescarvar and three brothers in law, Wendell B. Copeland and wife, Terri, Keith D. Copeland and wife, Judy and Harold Lee Copeland, Jr. and wife, Judy. He is preceded in death by his parents.
