Walter Wirth

Walter Paul Wirth, age 96, of Golden City, MO passed away August 03, 2019, at Medicalodges of Nevada, MO.

Walter was born December 10, 1922 in Dade County, MO to Conrad Wirth and Frieda Clara (Haustein) Wirth. Walter graduated from Golden City High School. On September 1, 1951, Walter married Lillie Ethel Turner in Greenfield, MO. He was drafted into the United States Army during WWII and served 1944 - 1946 and was stationed in the Philippines. After being honorably discharged, he was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Golden City United Methodist Church and a past member of Lamar and Golden City VFW.

Survivors include a son, Jim Wirth and wife Suzanne, Lamar, MO; three daughters, Paulet Courtney and husband Dan, McLouth, KS, Lea Ann Duncan, Dyersburg, TN, Melissa Cooper and husband John, Golden City, MO; nine grandchildren, Brian, Michael (Jeni), Jordan, Madison, Ryan (Kati), Brad (Florenda), and Kaitlyn (David) Johnathan, Lane; and 13 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include his twin brother, Wesley and wife Dorothy Wirth, Golden City, MO.








Preceding Walter in death were his wife, Lillie Wirth, his parents and one sister, Esther Miessner, and a nephew Gary Wirth.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 07, 2019, at Greenwood Kistler Cemetery, Golden City, MO, with Pastor Larry Garfield officiating. Military Honors will be conducted.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, at Daniel Funeral Home.
