Ron Purcell

Purcell, Ronald Paul, 66, of Webb City, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 with his family by his side. Ron was born December 6, 1953 in Webb City, Missouri, the son of Lawrence (Chig) and Ruth Purcell.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry, survived by his wife, Marilyn and niece Niki, and her children Dani and Tori, of Missouri City, Texas.

He graduated from Webb City High School and then Missouri Southern State University. 

He married Beverly M. Purcell (Selby) on June 2, 1990 in Branson, Missouri. The family, along with his many friends, has lost a wonderful human being.

Ron loved the outdoors and traveling the back roads throughout the region. His sense of humor and ability to make everyone his friend will be missed. Ron was talented as a designer, and as a draftsman, was able to put his ideas in action. He worked in automotive service in sales and management and was very accomplished in his efforts. He embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life in all its aspects. His joy was in his wife, Beverly, his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He loved his Church and took part in outreach opportunities.








He will be missed most by his wife, Beverly, his son Paul Purcell, his wife Tracy of Joplin, his daughter, Rebekah Bettes (Purcell), and her partner Ray Jacobs of Webb City, granddaughters Zoe and Isabella, Grandsons, Noah, Corgan, Levi, Logan, Luke, Alex and great grandson, Brecken of Texas and his closest friends in Joplin, Webb City, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Texas.

He will be reunited with his parents and brother in heaven. 

Service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Webb City, officiated by Dr. Shaun Watson on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM. The family will be present for visitation on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the service time. He will be laid to rest in Friends Cemetery, Purcell, Missouri. There will be no graveside service.
