Delores Davis

Delores Imogene 'Grandma D' Davis, age 98, Joplin, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019 at National Health Care Center after an illness.

Delores was born July 4, 1921 in Joplin to the late Autie Bybee and Pearl Trease Bybee and had lived in Joplin most of her life.

She worked at Dude's Donut Shop, Miller Manufacturing and the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons for several years. Delores went to work in the dietary department at the former St. John's Regional Medical Center Brady Building. Following her retirement, she decided to take a part time job and McDonald's on South Main Street. Over twenty years of working full time there, she finally hung up her baking apron at the age of 89.

Family meant everything to Delores. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Delores married Carl J. Davis. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1969.










She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jerrie Lynn Butler; a son, Jack E. Davis; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Russell, Joplin; sister, Velma Martin, Joplin; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren.

Services are planned for Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
