Troy Holland

Troy Wayne Holland, age 84, Alba, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at St. Luke's Nursing Center.

Troy was born September 15, 1935 in Rogersville, Missouri, son of the late Jesse Wayne Green Holland and Rilla May Gray Holland. He grew up in Neck City, Missouri, served in the United States Army, and was an independent truck driver for over 42 years. During that time, he also ran a cattle farm, and was a farmer in the Alba area. He was a hard worker all his life, but also made time for the people and activities he loved. He was lead vocalist and guitarist for many local country/western bands throughout his life and was proud to be the oldest member of Purcell Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Minkler Holland. They were united in marriage on April 1, 1955 and separated only when she passed on September 3, 2018.










Survivors include his sons, Tony Holland and wife Ava of Oronogo, Missouri, and Curt Holland and wife Kimberly of Ozawkie, Kansas; grandchildren, Scott Holland of Diamond, Missouri, Chad Holland and wife Latasha of Alba, and Zachary Holland of Joplin; great-grandchildren, Bradley Holland, Carson Holland, Zaden Holland, and Elliott Holland.

Memorial services will be Thursday, March 26th at 2:00PM in Purcell Baptist Church with Rev. Johnnie Wilkins officiating. There will be a lunch reception, prior to the service, at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Purcell Baptist Church.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home.
