Lawrence Martin Abramovitz, 96, of Purdy, Missouri went home to be with his Lord in Heaven on Monday May 11, 2020 at his home in Purdy. He was born in Purdy, Missouri on November 11, 1923; the son of the late George and Rose (Staponski) Abramovitz.
He was united in marriage on September 27, 1950 to Dolores Perch; she preceded him in death on February 18, 1969.
He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and receiving a purple heart during his combat time. He was also a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, the Monett V.F.W. Post #4207, and the Monett American Legion.

Lawrence is survived by four sons: Larry Abramovitz of Pierce City, George Abramovitz of Springfield, Bill Abramovitz of Monett and Ted Abramovitz of Purdy; two daughters: Linda McAllister of Monett and Debora Harvey of Rocky Comfort; one brother: Julius Abramovitz of Pierce City, one sister: Rosemary White of Kansas City, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Rose; his wife Dolores and one daughter: Barbara Wimberley.
Rosary for Lawrence is being held on Thursday May 14, 2020 at 6:00p.m. with visitation to follow Rosary until 8:00p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday May 14, 2020 from 11:00a.m. until the time of the Rosary at 6:00p.m. Graveside services are being held on Friday May 15, 2020 at 11:00a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, Missouri with Father Paul Pudha officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
