Jeanne Crowder

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Naomi Jeanne Crowder, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2020 with her devoted daughter, Pam Magruder by her side. Jeanne was born on April 4, 1933 in Kansas City, MO, the only child of Vida Barton and Claude Piper.

She married her husband of 58 years, Clifford Calvin Crowder on August 17, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2008. Jeanne lived a full life as a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal wife and an astute business owner. She was an avid reader, and a proud supporter of the Friends of the Neosho/Newton County Library, Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, and Neosho Area Widow to Widow, as well as a devoted member of Oakwood Christian Church.

As a member of the family, you could always count on receiving a birthday card from her every year and on any special occasion, you could count on her to be there. She loved her family completely and unconditionally to include in-laws and often showed her love with the best yeast rolls ever made! She never complained, she had a contagious laugh, and she loved to travel.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Clifford (Robin) Crowder of Saginaw, MO, Jim (Rachel) Crowder of Marshfield, MO, Diana (Gerald) Marble of Neosho, MO, Pam Magruder of Neosho, MO and Mike (Stacy) Crowder of Neosho; 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom she greatly loved and always enjoyed visiting with. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cal; daughter, Kathleen Elaine Thornberry-Bogle; infant daughter, Margaret Jean; infant son, Marvin Lee; one son-in-law, Kevin Bogle; and two grandchildren, Brian Keith Crowder and Gabriel Anthony Thornberry.

Funeral services for Jeanne will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 1:00 pm at Clark Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 12 pm until service time.

In lieu of flowers, read a good book, she would have loved that. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Friends of the Neosho/Newton County Library.

  1. As her niece I remember her as a sweet woman and I agree, a contagious laugh. So glad she was able to enjoy her family and her books. She will be missed.
