Phyllis White

Phyllis Dean White, age 92, Joplin, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Westgate of the Communities of Wildwood.

Phyllis was born July 25, 1928 in Joplin, daughter of the late Alvin T. Lauener and Wilma Conway Lauener. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1946. 

She was a Porcelain Artist for many years, teaching in the Joplin area, and later traveling the United States teaching seminars. She was a proud member of the International Porcelain Art Teacher's and the World Organization of China Painters. She was also an active member of the 26th Street Church of Christ in Joplin. 








In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. White who passed away on April 6, 2003, and a son, Bradley Glenn White who passed March 6, 2019; a grandson, Jared White who passed January 13, 2011; and a brother, Alvin J. Lauener.

Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Ann Potts of Joplin; grandchildren, Rachel Potts Roberts of Springfield, Missouri, and Justin White (Kara Malcom White) of Joplin; great-grandchildren, Layla Grace Roberts, Georgia Kate Roberts, Amber Elizabeth White, Jason Michael White, and James Jared White.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at 26th Street Church of Christ with Pastor Don Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
