(From Smith Family Mortuaries)Carolyne Rose Kalcevic, 84, died, Monday, October 14th, 2024 at the Glen Carr House. Carolyne was born July 21st, 1940, in Joplin, Missouri to Charles and Juanita (Marshall) Crossley.
Carolyne was born and raised in Joplin. Upon graduating high school, she joined the USAF where she met the love of her life, Rudolph A Kalcevic, Sr.
After leaving the USAF and raising her family, she joined the Naval Reserves and went to work for the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita for several years before retiring in 1995. She was an avid reader and enjoyed every puzzle the local paper offered up. She also loved working in the garden, sewing and spending time with her family. She loved her children and grandchildren more than life itself.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rudolph A. Kalcevic, Sr., and her sister, Patricia I. Swift. Carolyne is survived by her three children Rudolph A. Kalcevic Jr. (Laurie), Karla A. Roberts (Mark), Jonna C. Kalcevic, and one stepdaughter, Lynn M. Broussard. Four grandchildren: Carol A. Kalcevic, Rudolph A. Kalcevic III (Drew), Jessica S. Manny (Matt), Dustin A. Edgett (Solate), and 5 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, October 18th, 2024 at Smith Mortuary, Derby 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Glen Carr House, 1433 N. Hamilton Dr., Derby, KS 67037.
