(From Parker Mortuary)Donald Ray Cofield, Sr., age 85, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, October 7, 2024. Donnie was born in Corsicana, Texas, on July 24, 1939, as the eldest child of Euel Jackson Cofield and Fern Mitchell. He grew up in and around Texas before retiring from over-the-road trucking to rural Lamar, Missouri. In retirement, he enjoyed ranching and raising cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, his daughter Leslie Jean Cogill, and his first two wives, Patsy and Ellen.
He is survived by his wife Patty and 11 children: Donna Sue Pflughaupt and husband Wayne of Corpus Christi, TX; Lori Ann Randle and husband Thomas of Dardanelle, AR; Whitney Blaine Phillips of Willow Springs, MO; Kathy Dee Fox and husband Matthew of Fort Smith, AR; Patrick Aaron Cofield and wife Tammy of Conroe, TX; Donald Ray Cofield, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Dardanelle, AR; Gerald Jackson Cofield and wife Crystal of Lamar, MO; step-children Debbie, Mark, Pam, and Kevin, along with their respective spouses. He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Many cousins and friends will also mourn his passing.
We will miss him greatly, but we take comfort knowing he is no longer in pain and is now celebrating with our Lord and Savior, alongside his loved ones who passed before him.
