(From Ulmer Funeral Home)David L. Watts, 78, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri. David was born December 12, 1945, in Minnesota to Morris Watts and Jean (Youngkrantz) Watts.
David was a lifetime Carthage resident and was employed at Schreiber Foods for 45+ years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors very much. David was also a part of the St. Louis Cardinal Nation.
David was united in marriage to Connie S. Nixon for 47 years; she survives.
David is survived by his wife, Connie Watts; one stepson, Tim Bailey of Webb City, Missouri; one daughter, Teresa Bailey of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Rick Watts (Becky) of Carthage, Missouri; two nieces, Karen Watts and Kristy Ball (Stephen), both of Carthage, Missouri; and his lifetime friend, Jim Steinkamp (Linda), of Carthage, Missouri.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Jean Watts; and two brothers, Gary Watts and John Watts.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2024, at Dudman Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri.
