(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Susan Rene McCormick, age 55, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri on October 29, 2024, at 6:41 P.M.
Susan was born on May 20, 1969, in Floydada, Texas to Raymond and Alice VanAmber, where they raised her alongside her three sisters.
Susan was a woman of God who loved her children, grandchildren, church family, and friends alike. Reaching the lost for the Kingdom of Heaven was her passion! Spoiling her grandchildren was her pleasure! Susan was a very passionate woman and loved with all she had. Referred to as a “Natural Mother”, she was known to convey stories of her children and grandchildren, often. Strong, stubborn, smart, intuitive, and kind- she opened her home, wallet, and heart for all who were in need around her. Often, putting others before even her own needs! A true giver and friend!
You will be missed—so profoundly missed. Brooklyn, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Zane, Auriel, Amara, and I want you to know just how much you meant to us. You were truly an amazing light in our lives. Your warmth, kindness, and laughter have left an indelible mark on our hearts. I often find myself reminiscing about the countless memories we’ve created together.
Your ability to uplift those around you and bring joy into even the simplest of moments is a gift that we all admire. Whether we were gathered for a holiday feast, enjoying a quiet afternoon, or celebrating life’s milestones, your presence always filled our home with love and laughter. Thank you for being you—for being a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, a loving grandmother, and an irreplaceable part of our family. You are loved beyond measure, and we will cherish the times we’ve had together. Love your eldest Son.
She is survived by her three children Justin Avery, Joshua Avery, and Shana Avery, and three sisters Deborah VanAmber, Christine VanAmber, and Nancy VanAmber.
