Amber Lietz

(From Parker Mortuary)

Amber Dawn Lietz, 51, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 7, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 20, 1974, in Orange County, California, to Deborah Clark and the late Oscar Beaulieu.

Professionally, Amber dedicated her life to the well-being of others as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. She was an amazing cheerleader and support through the journey of what she called “the miracle of birth.” Her compassionate nature also led her to become a traveling nurse, where she provided care and comfort to countless families.

Beyond her professional achievements, Amber's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She had an insatiable love for travel, having explored history and beauty throughout the 49 continental states, and Europe. She found joy in the simple pleasures of float trips, beach visits, cruises, and motorcycle rides. Amber so loved getting her hands dirty and working on her “little corner of the earth,” especially her tomato garden. Camping trips were also a favorite pastime, allowing her to immerse herself in the tranquility of nature.

She had many passions including singing, cooking, and baking. She grew up doing all things music and loved singing and jamming out to all classic rock, especially Bon Jovi. Amber loved supporting local bands and singing karaoke. One of her love languages was cooking and sharing food. She always made enough food to feed an army and used to say “If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault.” It was always so delicious, it was impossible to leave hungry. We will miss her love filled homestyle food and her perfect buttercream cupcakes.

Amber is survived by her children; Brittany Holgate (Joshua), Andrew Lietz, Jacob Lietz (Kayla), David Lietz (Abby), and Emma Lietz; grandchildren, Robert Holgate, Eleanor Holgate, Lincoln Holgate, Andrew Lietz, and William Lietz; and her brother, Chris Lowe.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 14, 2025 at 3pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2107 S Indiana Ave, Joplin, MO 64804.

Arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
