Gary Shipman

Gary DeWayne Shipman, 68, of Diamond, Missouri, passed away on February 2, 2025. He was born on May 26, 1956, in Joplin, Missouri, to Lonnie and Joyce (Brown) Shipman.

Gary graduated from Diamond High School and spent much of his life working as a dispatcher for Tri-State Trucking Company as well as managing Take Away Cafe. In his free time, he enjoyed the companionship of his beloved English Shepherd dogs and found satisfaction in working on appliances. He was known for his quiet strength and unwavering dedication to his family and work.








Gary is survived by his father, Lonnie Shipman of Baxter Springs, Kansas; his mother, Joyce Griffin of Carthage, Missouri; his siblings Jerry (Cathy) Shipman of Diamond, Missouri, Julie (Steve) Ball of Joplin, Missouri, and Chris (Sherry) Shipman of Baxter Springs, Kansas; aunts and uncles, Curt and Wilma Brown of Diamond, Missouri, Barbara Landers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Glen and Judy Brown of Jay, Oklahoma, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Griffin, his maternal grandparents, Noah and Thelma Brown, and paternal grandparents, Bo and Irene Shipman.

A memorial service to honor Gary’s life will be held on February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Diamond, Missouri. Tivis Boothe will officiate.








In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, Missouri 64850, to assist with funeral expenses.

Gary’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
