David Gorman

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

David Wayne Gorman, age 67, of Pineville, Missouri, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He entered this life on March 24, 1958, in Scott City, Kansas, one of four sons born to the union of the late Lenard “Ike” and Shirley (Amack) Gorman.

David's journey led him from the sunflower state of Kansas to the rich landscapes of Texas, where he spent the majority of his formative years. In a twist of fate that would shape his senior year, he moved to McDonald County, Missouri, where he would eventually graduate. His passion for the equestrian world guided him to the North Texas Farrier Academy in Grapevine, Texas, where he honed his skills and became a respected farrier.

His professional life was as diverse as his interests. David was not only a skilled leather craftsman but also a truck driver and farmhand. His love for the outdoors was evident in his role as a fishing guide in the picturesque state of Colorado. However, it was his time spent as a bull rider that added an edge of adventure to his life's narrative.

David's creativity found its outlet in cowboy poetry, a genre where he not only excelled but also gained recognition as a published poet. His words, often inspired by his own experiences, resonated with authenticity and the rugged beauty of cowboy life.

He is survived by his three brothers, Timothy Gorman and wife, Bonnie, of Fort Worth, Texas, Randy Gorman of Stark City, Missouri, and Steven Gorman of Jane, Missouri. David also leaves behind his favorite aunt, Bonnie McQuillen of Anderson, Missouri. His departure will be deeply felt by his extended family and a host of friends, all of whom were enriched by his presence in their lives.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
