Dorothy Hall

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Dorothy G Hall, Age 100, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday May 6, 2025.

She was born on June 27, 1924, in Cassville, Missouri to the late William and Jewel Doty.

She married John A. Hall on March 27, 1942, and to that union was blessed with two children.

Dorothy found joy in many hobbies like gardening, canning, sewing, bird watching and foraging. She loved children. Dorothy surrounded herself with photos of her family and other people she had grown to love.

Dorothy often referred to herself as A Pioneer Lady. She knew how to forage and survive off the land. Her favorite thing to do was to walk out into the pasture and pick green edibles (we call them weeds) and prepare them for dinner. She loved to can Pear Honey and make Blackberry Cobbler from blackberries she harvested in the pasture.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her husband John, her daughter Dorothy Sue Elliott, Dorothy’s mother Jewel Morriss Doty and her father William Doty, her brothers Raymon Doty, Bill Doty, and Ernest Doty, and her sisters Mae Doty, Lorene Worden, Charlene Lawson.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Hall Spangler and husband Paul Spangler of St Louis, Missouri, two grandchildren Jeff Spangler and wife Cardelle of Evanston, Illinois, Jen Spangler Williamson and husband Leo Williamson of Frankfort, Kentucky, great-grandchildren Noelle Catherine Spangler, Charlie Bratton Spangler, Lucas Hall Williamson, and Amelia Mae Williamson, and her brothers Bob Doty of Alabama, and John Wayne Doty of Washington State.

A funeral service has been scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, May 12 at Mason-Woodard Chapel.

The family will receive friends and visitors at 9:00 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital In care of the mortuary.

She wanted you all to know that she was ready to go “home” to be with her Heavenly family.
