Gregory Quinlan

Dr. Gregory Hull Quinlan, 75, of Grantville KS, passed away at his home surrounded by his family after a hard-fought courageous battle with cancer.

Dr. Quinlan was born February 25, 1950, in Topeka KS was the son of Jo Ann and John Quinlan. He was raised in a close-knit family with his brothers and sister in Independence KS. Dr. Quinlan graduated from Independence High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University. Dr. Quinlan received his medical degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine while serving in the United States Air Force.

Dr. Quinlan was a Major in the Air Force and served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage Alaska. After serving in the military, Dr. Quinlan opened private practices in Carthage MO, Dodge City KS, and finally settled in Fort Scott KS with his family. He was recognized as being one of the Top Ophthalmologist from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Greg married Timberlynn Kedrin Quinlan in 1976. Greg and Kedrin had two children, Sean Quinlan and Kellie Patterson.

Dr. Quinlan is survived by his daughter Kellie Patterson (Mitch); grandchildren, Cail McKee and Kiera Patterson; brothers, Mark Quinlan (Diana) and Johnny Quinlan; sister, Cynthia Jones (Richard); nieces and nephews, Ryan Quinlan, Cal Quinlan, Shannon Tucciarello (Pete), Ian Quinlan, William Quinlan (Abby), Leslie Jones and Brandy Sullivan (Colby). He was preceded in death by his wife, Timberlynn; son, Sean; parents; brother, Larry Quinlan.







Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 705 S Holbrook Street, Fort Scott KS 66701. The burial will be immediately after Mass in Rosehill Cemetery in Grantville.
