Hugh Cable

Hugh S. Cable, age 77 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at his home. Hugh was born on May 12, 1947 in Marysville, California to the late Ann E. (Thurman) Oaks.

Hugh was a dedicated fireman and served for the city of Joplin for 25+ years before retiring. He was an extremely hard worker and always made sure that his family was taken care of. You could often find him lending his time and energy to anyone that need some help. Hugh loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of The Well Church in Carl Junction, Missouri.

Hugh married Florence Manola on December 15, 1967 in Joplin. Together they were blessed with 57 years before her passing on December 20, 2024.

Hugh is survived by his two sons, Brian Cable and wife, Sherry of Carl Junction and Jason Cable, of Joplin; four grandchildren, Tay, Ty, Wyatt and Gracie May Cable; and one brother, Jack Cable and wife, Debbie.








Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Rick Flinn officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin.

Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
