(From Parker Mortuary)Milton Wadsworth Rozzell, age 68, passed away at his home in Joplin, MO, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
He was born on November 23, 1956, in St. Louis, MO, the third child of the union of Mervin E. Rozzell, Sr. and Mattie M. (Buchanan) Rozzell (both deceased).
Milton was baptized at a young age and was a firm believer in his salvation though faith in the atoning work of Yeshua of Nazareth, the Christ. He spent the last 15 years in the Joplin area and was a member of Joplin First Church of the Nazarene.
Growing up Milton was a happy, outgoing child who played baseball, enjoyed drawing, playing cards and chess, and he played the bass guitar. He was a 1973 graduate of East St. Louis (IL) Senior High School. He went on to obtain a post-secondary degree in Computer Aided Design. Milton was honorably discharged from the United States Navy having proudly served from 1975 to 1979.
Milton is survived by his son, Glyn Rozzell (Taylor), of Seattle, WA; an older brother, Dave Rozzell (Jeri), of Indianapolis, IN; three grandsons, Glyn Jr., Geno, and Ge’Von Rozzell; sisters Miacko, Nicole, Zuri, and Christan; brothers Zito and David; an especially close first-cousin, Patricia A. Carpenter (Odie), of Springfield, IL; five nieces; four nephews; and a host of other cousins, and grand nieces and nephews.
His older sister, Debra Rozzell, and older brother, James J. Edwards, Jr., both preceded his passing, respectively.
Milton will be fondly remembered for his living-out-loud personality.
Memorial Services will be held in Joplin and East St. Louis, respectively, at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
