(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Paulene Savery, age 87, of Joplin, MO passed away on May 28, 2025 after a brief illness.
Paulene was born on September, 8, 1937 in Alba, MO to her parents Fred Charles and Edith Major (Graham) Forste.
She married her husband Charles “Jake” Savery on December 8, 1953 in Kansas City, MO and they were married for over 57 years prior to his passing on July 12, 2011.
Additionally, she is preceded by her parents; three sisters, Hazel Sargent, Irene Boyd, and Ruth Baltzell; three brothers, Charles Forste, Fred Forste Jr, and William Forste; two sisters in-law, Peggy Forste and Laura Letson; three brothers in-law, Laurie Baltzel Jr, Oneth Bud Savery, and Dennis “Butch” Savery.
Paulene is survived by two sisters, Leta Kernal and husband Gary, Evelyn Greenstreet and husband Ray; one brother Lester Forste and wife Carol; one sister in-law, Pat Forste; two children Rick Savery and Connie Sparks; three grandchildren, Brandon Wintjen, Bryce Wintjen, and Briana Millsap; six great-grandchildren, Courtney Cook, Payton Drake, Drake Cook, Payton Milsap, Charles Wintjen, and Riley Wintjen.
From Rick and Connie: Rick and I were adopted, and we got so lucky with mom and dad. They were the best parents ever. Dad was a fireman and mom a home maker. Mom was always there for us no matter what. Before she got sick, we talked every morning. I will always miss her but know she is with my dad now where she wanted to be.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00pm, Monday, June 2, 2025 and services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E. 7th St. Joplin, MO 64801.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks in care of the mortuary.
