Virginia Spillman
(From Parker Mortuary)Virginia Lorraine Spillman, born on August 15, 1942, in Melrose, Iowa, to the late Ralph and Virginia (Baker) Egbert, passed away on April 29, 2025, in Carl Junction, Missouri, at the age of 82.
Virginia, known for her warm smile and nurturing spirit, dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a nurse aide and later as a janitor, ensuring clean and welcoming spaces in nursing homes and hospitals.
Virginia's hands were rarely still. She was an accomplished seamstress and could often be found embroidering intricate patterns or turning vibrant fabrics into quilts that warmed both body and soul. Her love for gardening led to a bounty of flowers that she generously shared with friends and neighbors. Virginia's artistic talents extended to drawing and ceramics, and her home was adorned with her creations, each piece telling a story of a moment in her life.
A lover of beauty in all its forms, Virginia cherished her collection of porcelain dolls, each one selected with care and displayed with pride. Remodeling houses was another passion. Even in her leisure, Virginia stayed connected to her community, spending hours on the phone in lively conversation with friends and family.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Rodney Spillman; children, Donny Spillman, Ronny Spillman, Johnny Spillman, Tammy Hunt, and Cindy Myers; grandchildren, Rodney, Nick (Brittney), Jessica (Justin), Amanda, Krysten, Samantha (Allen), and Alexander (Trinity); 15 great grandchildren; and siblings, Cora (Lou) Oberman, Colleen (Paul) Coy, Joseph (Kathy)Egbert, Juanita (Dan) Spaur, Larita Rominger.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph “Bernerd” Egbert, Melvin Egbert, and Rosalee Egbert.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel in Joplin, MO.
