Gene Phillips

Gene Wesley Phillips, age 81, of Seneca, MO passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his home.

Gene was born on September 1, 1943 in McDonald County, MO to the late union of Larkin and Effie Phillips. He served in the United States Military for 21 years which included, 17 years in the Air Force and 4 years in the Marines. He worked primarily as a flight engineer for the Air Force. 

After retiring from the military, he worked for Lockheed-Martin for a few years before dabbling in the trucking industry, but quickly realized that was not his calling. He then went to work as the last manager for Allister Door Company before they closed down. Gene was a classic, razzle dazzle, funny type of guy that always seemed to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed a good cookout and was always planning the next family gathering. He was a generous man that always had your back and never missed a chance to lend a helping hand. You could often find Gene telling a joke with a Coors Light in hand.

Gene is survived by his two children, Denise Phillips-Fieker and husband, Derek, and David Eugene Wesley Phillips; and his companion, Victoria Newberry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Labor Day weekend by the family.

Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
