Glenda Jarvis

Glenda Mae Jarvis, 87, of Stockton, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Glenda was born October 13, 1937 in McPhee, Colorado to Paul Frederick Shock and Emma Elizabeth Lewis Shock. She spent her youth in Durango, Colorado where she went to school and graduated from Durango High School.







On December 16, 1955 Glenda married Walter Darrol Jarvis in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they had 9 children, Alan, Jodie, Julie, Janet, Wade, Emma, Mark, Melissa, and Devin.
Glenda's greatest accomplishment was the rearing of her children as she worked full time as a domestic engineer. She was a cook, nurse, seamstress, gardener, chauffeur, referee, and a constant support to her beloved husband. In her free time she enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, painting, puzzling, and holding babies.

Glenda is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Through the years she served in the Relief Society Presidency, Primary Presidency, and Young Women Presidency. She also served as a Cub Scout Leader, Family History Coordinator, Organist, Chorister, and teacher to both children and youth. Her greatest legacy was her unwavering faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Darrol; sons, Byran Wade (Julynne) Jarvis of Willard, Utah; Walter Mark (RaeAnn) Jarvis of Herriman, Utah; Devin Frederick (Brigette) Jarvis of Jerico Springs, Missouri; daughters Jodie Lynne (Kenneth) Nelson of Sandy, Utah; Julie Lee Talbot of Carthage, Missouri; Janet Louise (Keith) Adams of Stockton, Missouri; Emma Leata Jarvis of Stockton, Missouri; and Melissa Mae (Dennis) Lemon of Logan, Utah; daughter-in-law, Kim Jarvis of Ogden, Utah; brothers Keith Lewis Shock of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kenneth Eugene (Celia) Shock of Riverdale, Utah; sisters Helen Patricia Suorsa of Queen Creek, Arizona; Lora LaDawn (Dale) of Riverdale, Utah; 39 grand-children; 89 great grandchildren and counting.







Glenda is preceded in death by her parents; son, Darrol Alan Jarvis; son-in-law, Kenneth Craig Talbot; brother, Duane Paul Shock; sister, Lila Sue Horrocks; granddaughter, Deija Marie Jarvis; grandsons, Shawn Martin Nelson and John Alan Titus.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Stockton, Missouri LDS Church, with Bishop Leroy Collingwood conducting. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, 306 S High Street in Stockton, and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Arcola, Missouri. Condolences may be sent to the family online at the Brumback Funeral Home website.
