Joe Lindquist

Joseph Ryan Lindquist, age 77, of Joplin, MO passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025.

Joe was born on October 3, 1947 in Joplin, MO to his parents Vernon and Wynona (Oakes) Lindquist. He married his late wife Vickie (Atkins) on March 29, 1969 in Rolla, MO.

Joe lived in St. Petersburg, FL for 33 years where he worked as an electrical engineer for Florida Power Corporation and Duke Energy. 






In his years there he worked as a distribution engineer, an underground engineering engineer, he worked in economic research and lastly was a corporate planning analyst. Joe was an avid tennis player, softball player and cyclist where he served as a past president of the St. Petersburg Bicycle Club. He enjoyed hunting and he had a beautiful tenor voice. He also served as a music director at Lake Maggiore Baptist Church and was currently attending Forest Park Church in Joplin.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Vickie, parents Vernon and Wynona, and one son, Brian Lindquist.

Joseph is survived by his daughters Kimberly Graham and Ashley Gerace; sister, Lori Hunter; five grandchildren, Samantha Ungurait, Damian Graham, Austin Lindquist, Kenneth Gerace, and Amber Gerace; two great-grandchildren, Layla Beck and Braylin Ungurait, and close companion Jane Baine.








Services will be held at 10:00am, Monday August 25, 2025 with a visitation held prior to the service at 9:00am at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E 7th St, Joplin, MO 64801.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mission Joplin in care of the mortuary.
