(From Ozark Funeral Home)Bob Pope was born in Amarillo, Texas, on October 6, 1942 to Floyd and Zella Pope. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 7, 2025 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Bob moved to Anderson in the 2000’s and fell in love with his church, the people, and the beauty of Missouri.
Bob is survived by his wife Barbara Pope, of Anderson, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Keith Roberson of Bridgeport, Texas; son Carl Hendrickson of Yakima, Washington; daughter Angela Mayfield of Festus, Missouri; Son and daughter-in-law Adam and Jamie Mayfield of Mount Vernon, Missouri; Great Nephews Gary Wayne Floyd (Bo) Harrison, of Eugene, Oregan; Grandchildren D.J., Janie, Bud, Jade, Austin, Trent, Brennon, Alan, Andrew, and Katie; plus many other family and friends, especially his church family.
He is preceded in death by: Floyd and Zella Pope (parents), Patsy, Helen, Troy (Shorty), Jimmy (siblings), and Susie Pope (Wife).
In lieu of flowers, please make a love offering to Patterson Heights Baptist Church in Anderson, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Patterson Heights Baptist Church in Anderson, Missouri, with Pastor Fred Mills officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following services.
Bob was an inspiration in music and friendship. He will be dearly missed.
