(From City View Funeral Home)David Lee Jobe, age 80, of Salem, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at Salem Health after an extended illness. He was born on May 24, 1945 in Carthage, MO, the son of the late Herman and Sybil Jobe of Neosho, MO.
David was proceeded in death by his younger brother Dale. He is survived by his older brother, Jerry., his wife of 44 years Pearl, and his children, son Danen of Florissant, CO; his daughter Lori of Fairfax, CA; and his son Matthew of Salem.
David graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, with a PhD in Anatomy, and went on to earn his MD after completing his residency in psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. David retired from Oregon State Hospital after 35 years, where he practiced Forensic Medicine.
David was fascinated by the function of the brain and the study of psychopharmacology. He was an avid reader and enjoyed many varieties of music. Although he did not play an instrument, he loved listening and collecting CD and vinyl records.
After his family, his greatest love was bulldogs. He leaves behind two Frenchies, Trouble and Corney.
There are no services scheduled, only a private viewing for family. The family requested no flowers or donations, only remembrance with friends and family.
