(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Janice Marie Haney, 87, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Janice was born on January 14, 1938, in Springfield, Missouri, to Monte “M.T.” and Nellie “Mae” (Gillfillan) Arnold (married January 14, 1930). They are both deceased.
Janice was united in marriage to Paul Thomas Yates on May 3, 1959. He proceeded her in death December 14, 1930-October 26, 1999. They had two sons, Ricky D. Yates and Monte Tomas Yates, both of which preceded Janice in death. Janice later married Wayne D. Haney on October 11, 2007, in Lee Summit, Missouri; he preceded her in death on June 14, 2010.
Janice is survived by her first cousin, Lola Law of Carthage, Missouri; Lola’s daughter, Kimberly Law; four grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Janice had three sisters, Cleo, Norma, and Katy; all of which preceded her in death.
Janice was a furniture restorer and created beautiful furniture out of old and discarded pieces. She was a member of Victory Life Church in Rogersville, Missouri.
Janice is survived by four grandchildren, five great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews, and cousins Lola Law and Kimberly Law of Carthage, Missouri.
Per her wishes, Janice will be cremated and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. She will be interred next to Paul Yates in Greenlawn Cemetery - North, Springfield, Missouri.
