Don Denny

Donald “Don” Joe Denny, age 69, of Columbus, KS passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at his home.

Don was born on April 19, 1956 in Eugene, OR to the union of Raymond and Ina Oleta (Williams) Denny. He spent most of his childhood in Pueblo, CO until moving in the 9th grade to Joplin, MO. He began his sophomore year at Memorial High School and graduated in 1974. He then went on to work as a Machinist and owned and operated Joplin Clutch and Machine in town. 






He married Kathy Jo Allen in Miami, OK on October 3, 1988. Together they were unstoppable. To this union brought one daughter, Haleigh Denny and a bonus daughter, Erin Bond. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary just a few days before Don’s passing. Don was an avid fan of the Allman Brothers Band, his love for music was a constant source of joy and inspiration. He enjoyed hitting the open road on his Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide. Don was also a loyal LA Lakers and Denver Broncos fan. He spent countless hours on the golf greens, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with friends. Don was a meticulous man and took great pride in making sure his lawn was in pristine condition. As we remember Don, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His infectious enthusiasm, unwavering loyalty, and the love he shared with those around him will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard “Ray” Denny and Allan Denny; and one brother-in-law, Mike Allen.








Don is survived by his wife, Kathy Denny, of the home; two daughters, Haleigh Denny (Taylor Warner) and Erin Bond; three grandchildren, Maverick Warner, Charleigh Holeman, and Banks Rakestraw; one sister, Faye VanGilder (Ray), of Lamar, MO; one sister-in-law, Patty Sutton, of Wagner, OK; and one brother-in-law, Steve Allen (Diane), of Columbus, KS.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Borland Cemetery in Columbus, KS with Alan McCamey officiating and Keith Rakestraw, Taylor Warner, Josh Mathis, Jason Anderson, Cory Scott, and Elliott Hawkins serving as pallbearers.




Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
